    IT Asset Register

An IT asset register that keeps itself up to date

The OneClickComply IT Asset Register is a live inventory of your devices and cloud assets, built for ISO 27001 and other frameworks. It syncs daily from the endpoint protection agent, adds devices found by cloud and connector scans, removes duplicates by serial number and links each asset to its detections.

    THE PROBLEM

Why spreadsheet asset registers fail audits

Auditors expect an inventory of your assets with an owner for each one, but a spreadsheet register goes stale the week it is written. Devices are bought, rebuilt and retired, people leave, and the same laptop turns up twice from two different tools. ISO 27001 makes the inventory a control in its own right (Annex A 5.9), so a stale register is an audit finding waiting to happen.

    FEATURES

How the asset register stays current

Daily sync from the endpoint agent

Devices running the endpoint protection agent sync into the register every day, with no manual entry.

    Cloud and connector discovery

Assets found by your cloud scans and connector scans are added alongside endpoint devices, so the register covers more than laptops.

    Duplicates removed by serial number

When two sources report the same device, the register matches them on serial number and keeps a single record.

    Owners reassigned when people leave

When someone leaves, their assets are reassigned so every asset keeps an owner, and the change is recorded in the asset's history.

    History, classification and disposal

Every asset keeps a full change history, a data classification and a destruction certificate field for recording secure disposal.

    Detections linked to every asset

Open detections show on the asset they affect, and an importance rating lets you prioritise by risk.

    BENEFITS

What you can show your auditor

An inventory with an owner for every asset, as ISO 27001 Annex A 5.9 expects

No double counting when the same device appears in more than one tool

Leavers' devices moved to a new owner instead of being forgotten

Disposal recorded against the asset, with its destruction certificate number

A spreadsheet export of the full register whenever an auditor asks for it

    FAQ

    IT Asset Register: common questions

An IT asset register is a list of the devices, systems and cloud resources your organisation uses, with an owner for each one. Security frameworks expect one because you cannot protect assets you do not know about.

Yes. ISO 27001:2022 Annex A control 5.9 asks for an inventory of information and other associated assets, including their owners. The OneClickComply register gives you that inventory and keeps it current from your endpoint, cloud and connector data.

Devices running the endpoint protection agent sync every day, and assets found by cloud and connector scans are added automatically. Records for the same device from different sources are merged on serial number.

Their assets are reassigned so that every asset keeps an owner. The change is written to the asset's history, which gives you a record of who held each device and when.

Yes. Each asset has a destruction certificate field, so you can record the certificate number when a device is destroyed. With the change history, this shows an auditor how retired equipment was handled.

Yes. You can export the register to a spreadsheet that includes each asset's owner, data classification, serial number, location and last scan date.
