Why companies look for Vanta alternatives
Vanta is the category leader, with more than 16,000 customers and a London headquarters since 2025. Teams look elsewhere for different reasons: some are unhappy with the product, some with the price, and others want a platform that better suits how their business works. They usually hit one of the problems below, at renewal or when adding a second framework. These are the reasons our compliance experts hear most frequently:
1. Vanta tells you what's wrong, but your team has to fix it manually
Vanta runs automated tests and flags failures. It now uses AI to write fix instructions for failed tests, but someone on your team still has to make each change. Prospects describe the same loop again and again: they take the failed test, ask AI what it wants, fix it by hand, then rerun. For a small team without a dedicated security engineer, that loop is where a lot of unnecessary time goes.
2. Automation that goes wrong is hard to undo
Automated changes save time only when they're safe. One company we spoke to had a Vanta-driven change that was meant to block gambling sites. Instead, it blocked Chrome and Firefox on every PC, and they had to roll it back by hand. Whatever platform you choose, check that you can easily preview and undo every automated change.
3. A 95% progress score doesn't mean you're audit-ready
The progress score tracks automated tests well. But it says less about the policies, records and processes an auditor will also ask for. Teams reach 95%, then find a long list of documents and processes still to build, each one hours or days of work.
4. Per-framework pricing adds up
Vanta prices by framework. Adding ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials Plus to an existing SOC 2 contract adds a fee for each one, before you even get to audit fees. And many of the teams we speak to see the price rise again at renewal.
5. Less hands-on help for smaller teams
As Vanta grows its enterprise business, smaller customers have told us they get less time from customer success than when they signed. If you're a startup or scaleup relying on guidance through your first audit, that's a big gap.
How we chose these Vanta alternatives
We started from the reasons our compliance experts hear most often from teams leaving Vanta, then looked at which platforms solve them. Every alternative was judged on the same six things:
- Fit with your reason for leaving. Whether the platform addresses the problems that send teams looking: cost, fixing failed tests, audit readiness or support.
- How failed tests get fixed. Whether the platform only flags a failure, explains the fix or applies it for you.
- Framework coverage. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 first, then the UK and European frameworks UK buyers are asked for, such as Cyber Essentials, GDPR, NIS 2 and DORA.
- Pricing model. How each vendor charges: per framework, per plan or bundled with the audit. We only quote prices a vendor publishes itself.
- Audit route. Whether you can use an independent, UKAS-accredited certification body, or the vendor runs the audit itself.
- Location and support. Where the vendor is based, where your data can be hosted and which teams it suits best.
The 7 best Vanta alternatives
1. OneClickComply

Overview: OneClickComply is a UK-based compliance automation platform that gets businesses certified and keeps them certified. Where most platforms flag a failed test and leave the fix to you, OneClickComply fixes it for you. It suits UK businesses of any size that need ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials, often together.
What customers say:
“OneClickComply is a real godsend for businesses that value time and strive for impeccable compliance with regulatory requirements!”
CEO / Founder, Financial Services Organisation

- Policies generated from your live system settings, so wording stays consistent across documents
- Automated evidence collection from the tools and cloud accounts you already use

- Trust Centre and security questionnaire automation
- Any Auditor Guarantee: fail a SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials Plus audit and we refund the audit fee and what you paid us, subject to terms
Frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, NHS DSPT, NCSC CAF, NIST CSF, CIS v8 and ISO 9001.
Limitations: Focused on UK and international standards, so it doesn't cover US-only frameworks such as HIPAA or FedRAMP.
Pricing: Quote only, with no per-framework pricing.
Location: UK.
Best suited to: UK and international businesses that need ISO 27001 and SOC 2 alongside UK frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, NHS DSPT and NCSC CAF.
2. Drata

Overview: Drata is a US compliance automation platform and Vanta's closest competitor. It monitors your systems continuously, collects evidence automatically and maps controls across frameworks. For teams leaving Vanta, it's the most like-for-like swap. See our full OneClickComply vs Drata comparison.
What customers say:
“Clear Compliance Visibility That Keeps Audits Organized Year-Round”
Marc M., Director, Information Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer employees)
Key features:
- Continuous control monitoring and automated evidence collection
- Controls mapped once and reused across frameworks
- Guided remediation when a test fails
- Trust Center for sharing your security posture with customers
- Audit Hub for working with your auditor in the platform
Frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, NIS 2, DORA, HIPAA and PCI DSS, plus 20+ more.
Limitations: Like Vanta, Drata flags failures and guides the fix, but your team still makes the change. Public reviews of its policy editor are mixed, so check how easily you can import the policies you already have. For more on why teams leave Drata, see our guide to Drata alternatives.
Pricing: Quote only. Extra frameworks are priced on top of the base plan.
Location: US.
Best suited to: SaaS companies selling to US enterprise, and international teams that need a wide framework library. UK teams should check how UK GDPR is covered and where data is hosted.
3. Secureframe

Overview: Secureframe is a US compliance automation platform known for guided onboarding and in-house compliance experts. It suits teams that want more hand-holding through their first audit. See OneClickComply vs Secureframe.
What customers say:
“Secureframe Streamlines Compliance with Continuous Monitoring and Automated Evidence Collection”
Michael F., Vice President Information Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer employees)
Key features:
- Automated evidence collection and cloud monitoring
- Comply AI for remediation suggestions, policies and risk
- Trust Center from the entry plan
- Questionnaire automation and advanced vendor risk on the Complete plan
- Hosting in the AWS London region
Frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, NIS 2, DORA, HIPAA and PCI DSS, plus 30+ more.
Limitations: Frameworks are priced by quantity, so adding ISO 27001 to SOC 2 raises the bill. Remediation suggestions still need someone to apply them.
Pricing: From $7,500 a year for the Fundamentals plan, which includes one framework. Higher plans are quote only.
Location: US, with hosting available in the AWS London region.
Best suited to: SaaS teams in the US and Europe that want guided onboarding, including UK teams that want their data held in the UK.
4. Sprinto

Frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, NIS 2, DORA, HIPAA and PCI DSS, from 200+ in total.
Limitations: Sprinto isn't an auditor, so audit fees sit on top. Extra frameworks add to the annual fee.
Pricing: Quote only. Price depends on frameworks and company size.
Location: US and India. No UK or EU data region advertised.
Best suited to: Cloud-first startups starting with SOC 2. UK teams should check auditor options for ISO 27001 certificates their customers will recognise.
5. Thoropass

Overview: Thoropass (formerly Laika) combines compliance software with its own audit team. It's a licensed CPA firm, so your SOC 2 audit runs in the same process as your preparation.

- One process across multiple frameworks
- Penetration testing available alongside the audit
Frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, NIS 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, HITRUST, NIST CSF and CIS v8.
Limitations: Some buyers prefer to keep their auditor independent of their software. Its site doesn't name the accreditation body behind its ISO 27001 certificates, so check this if your UK customers expect UKAS.
Pricing: Quote only, covering software and audit together.
Location: US.
Best suited to: US companies that want SOC 2 software and audit from one supplier. UK teams should confirm ISO 27001 accreditation before signing.
6. ISMS.online

Limitations: It's a structured workspace for policies, risks and controls, not a technical monitoring tool. It doesn't run automated tests on your cloud or devices, and it doesn't cover Cyber Essentials.
Pricing: Bespoke quote. Extra standards are optional add-ons.
Location: UK (Brighton).
Best suited to: UK and European organisations running one or more ISO management systems.
7. CyberSmart

Frameworks: Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and Defence Cyber Certification. It supports ISO 27001 and SOC 2 work but doesn't manage them end to end.

Pricing: From £999 + VAT a year per plan.
Location: UK.
Best suited to: Small UK businesses, and the MSPs that support them, that mainly need Cyber Essentials.
How to choose the right Vanta alternative
Start with the reason you're leaving, then test each shortlisted platform against it.
If you're not sure which frameworks you need, see how SOC 2, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and CIS v8 compare.
| Your reason for leaving | Look at | Ask every vendor |
|---|---|---|
| Cost at renewal | Sprinto, OneClickComply | Is pricing per framework or bundled? What's the renewal cap, in writing? |
| Time spent fixing failed tests | OneClickComply; CyberSmart for device patching | When a test fails, who makes the change? Can I preview and undo it? |
| The gap between the score and audit readiness | Thoropass, ISMS.online, OneClickComply | What does the progress score leave out? |
| Wanting one supplier for software and audit | Thoropass | Which body accredits your ISO 27001 certificates? |
| Needing mainly Cyber Essentials | CyberSmart, OneClickComply | Is the certification fee included? |
Four checks apply whatever you choose:
- Certification body. For ISO 27001, UK customers usually expect a certificate from a UKAS-accredited body. Ask which bodies the platform works with, and see our comparison of ISO 27001 certification bodies.
- Data location. Ask where your evidence is stored and how UK GDPR is covered.
- What's in the renewal. Compare features, not just price. Plans can lose features at renewal.
- Your stack. Check for native integrations with your cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud), identity provider and code repository (GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket). Gaps mean manual evidence.
What to do before you switch
Switching platforms doesn't reset your certification, but timing matters.
- Reprice first. If cost is the only issue, a competing quote may be enough to renegotiate. Check your notice period, as Vanta contracts can require notice well before renewal.
- Time it around your audit. Avoid switching mid-way through a SOC 2 Type 2 observation window. For ISO 27001, the gap after a surveillance audit is the easiest time.
- Export everything. Policies, evidence history, risk register, asset lists and auditor correspondence.
- Remap, don't rebuild. Most of your controls carry over. The new platform should map them for you.
- Run both briefly. Keep the old platform until the new one shows the same controls passing.
Where OneClickComply fits
OneClickComply is built for UK teams who want the work done and not just tracked. It's a good fit if:
- You run on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or AWS and want failed tests fixed for you.
- You need ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials together and don't want to pay per framework.
- You want answers from accredited auditors without booking a call.
It's not the right fit if:
- You need PCI DSS or HITRUST, which it doesn't cover today.
- You mainly need US-only frameworks such as HIPAA or FedRAMP.
If you're near your Vanta renewal, book a demo. We'll look at your current setup and show you what switching would involve. Or see how we compare head to head in OneClickComply vs Vanta.
